Venture Philanthropy

Bright Pink is proud to operate as a Venture Philanthropy Fund.

Venture Philanthropy brings together the rigor of venture capital with the heart and mission of the non-profit sector. We mobilize funding, resources and capacity-building support over a period of a year or more to help promising organizations and initiatives in the breast and ovarian health space achieve exponential growth in impact.

 Why Venture Philanthropy Works

Venture Philanthropy:

  • Emphasizes interventions that can be scaled, with the goal of systems change

  • Focuses on the populations directly benefiting

  • Provides extensive financial and non-financial support, including capacity building and advisory services

  • Encourages innovation and risk-taking in finding solutions

  • Independently monitors and evaluates to measure outcomes and impact

  • Enables a collaborative, cross-sectoral endeavor to deliver results

Bright Pink is the first and only venture philanthropy fund focused on breast and ovarian health. While Venture Philanthropy has transformed other sectors by maximizing social impact over a long-term horizon, we hope to draw learnings and strategies from our peers to drive positive outcomes in breast and ovarian health.

How it works

We leverage a high degree of rigor in identifying and vetting potential Mission Partners and the initiatives we support. And once the projects are underway, we collaborate with our Mission Partners to support their implementation and evaluation efforts and ensure project milestones are being achieved. Our rigorous Mission Partner vetting process culminates in us making strategic investments - both financial and capacity building - into select breast and ovarian health initiatives.

Through our Venture Philanthropy Fund, Bright Pink is building on our proven success and deep expertise to find and fund the next generation of ground-breaking breast and ovarian health initiatives. As we work to move the needle on young women's breast and ovarian health outcomes, we have continued to deepen our focus on health equity and finding solutions that remove barriers to care and help save lives.
