The Ultimate Fitness Marathon (for everybody!) | 9.20.15 | FFC Union Station

Why We FitFest

FitFest is the fitness marathon to save lives from breast and ovarian cancer. Now in our sixth year, this one-of-a-kind event gives you the chance to directly impact how these cancers are prevented. So why do we FitFest?

Because… every dollar raised goes to life-saving breast and ovarian cancer prevention programs for young women and the medical community who care for them.

Because… awareness isn’t enough. Exercise is proven to reduce the risk of breast and ovarian cancer. FitFest’s day of classes kicks healthy habits into action. Women and men of all fitness levels are welcome.

Because… it’s our turn to change the odds. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 1 in 67 will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Women have the power to be proactive to reduce their risk for these cancers or detect them at early, non life-threatening stages. It’s our mission to show them how.

Your Fundraising Commitment (And Prizes!)

FitFest is a fundraise-to-participate event. You can participate as an individual or as part of a team of any size. When you register, you will automatically be set up with a fundraising page. Fundraising minimums are as follows:

  • Registered as an individual? Minimum: $500
  • Participating with a team? Minimum: $500 x number of team members. For example, a team of 5 must raise $2,500 (NOTE: team fundraising is collective so there is no individual fundraising minimum as long as the team goal is met)
  • Want to get your colleagues involved? Minimum: $5,000 to be recognized as a corporate team sponsor onsite. Corporate teams are invited to bring 12 participants
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 fundraising teams as well as the top 3 individual fundraisers. Prizes will be awarded 3 weeks after the event, when fundraising closes. Top teams are based on average amount raised per team member.
  • Additionally, be on the lookout for more opportunities to win prizes by meeting fundraising milestones leading up to FitFest!
*As stated in the event waiver, if you do not meet your fundraising minimum by October 16th, 2015, your credit card will be charged the difference.
