PinkPal® Peer Support

PinkPal® is a peer support “matchmaking” service for young women at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer…only without the romance & fancy dates!

About PinkPal®
PinkPal® is a one-on-one supportive resource for young women at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer. The program pairs a “Participant” with a “PinkPal®” who is uniquely able to offer positive encouragement and support because she has already been through a similar experience, whether it is genetic testing, prophylactic surgery, or enduring a loved one’s fight with breast/ovarian cancer.

The nature of each relationship is completely up to the discretion of each one-on-one pair. Participants and PinkPals® may communicate by phone, email, or if possible they may meet in-person. Each pair has the freedom to determine the depth and extent of their relationship.

The PinkPal® program is 100% free of charge and is supervised by a licensed clinical psychologist. Participation is not limited to specific geographic locations. Bright Pink does not turn anyone away and will accommodate the needs of each individual to the best of our ability.

Becoming a Participant
A Participant Receives Peer Support
You know that feeling when you slip on your favorite little black (or pink) dress and it always looks and feels just right? Our goal is to achieve that same great fit every time we pair a Participant with a PinkPal®. When a Participant signs up for the program, she will be asked a series of questions that will help us find the perfect match, based upon demographic and characteristic criteria. A PinkPal® staff member will search our database to find an appropriate PinkPal® whose experiences most closely match those of the Participant. Once a match has been made, the Participant will be introduced to her PinkPal® via e-mail and the pair will be provided with a general overview about each of their experiences. It is up to the PinkPal® and Participant to determine to what depth and extent they’d like to take their relationship. However, the PinkPal® staff is always here to answer any questions or to provide any further guidance.
